Hazelnuts have long been a staple in European confections and baked goods, and are also famous for being a important ingredient in a widely used sweet chocolate spread. Our hazelnuts are imported from Oregon and are slightly salted and roasted right in our stores by our chefs. They are also an excellent source of protein, carbohydrate, vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants.
FUN FACT
Hazelnuts are also known as filberts, and likely named after French saint St. Philbert. In the US, they are also known as cobs, hazels, cobnuts, acorns, beechnuts and butternuts.
